Explain what the Higher Education Price Index (HEPI) and the College Board’s “Trends in College Pricing” show about inflation in higher education cost structures and tuition over the last decade. Compare the HEPI and tuition increases to overall inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI). 2. Using historical HEPI and tuition data, project HEPI-measured inflation and tuition prices over the next 10 years. Do a similar projection for CPI-measured inflation and compare the three projections (HEPI, tuition, and CPI). 3. Evaluate the implications of those projections. What impacts to you believe institutions of higher education (IHE), students, and their families will face given your projections? Critique the limitations of your projections and analysis.
